Everyone has told me how tough Toyota pick-up's were. Wanting to find out myself, I bought a badly wrecked 4x4 pick-up, at the dealer none the less, and started the transformation. After a quick test drive I felt fairly secure with the purchase. The salesman told me that the truck had been rolled 3 times. It had a smashed in cab, bed, and hood with a sheet of plastic for a side window. Needless to say I had to find a used bed and cab, then purchase front finders, windshield, window and a hood.

While in the body shop, we found that the frame was bent. I drove it to the frame shop and while in the process of aligning the frame it broke the frame machine. After a few choice words, the owner/mechanic swore he would never put a Toyota pick-up on his machine again. He said before starting that he had experienced problems in the past trying to straighten a Toyota truck frame, just too tough for him to fool with.
